| The author places Homeric Troy along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast where, he claims, geographical realities respond to geographical statements found in the Iliad and Odyssey, attested by several place names as well as a wealth of hitherto unexplored archaeological sites. Furthermore, he argues, internal linguistic evidence suggests these works were originally created in a pre-Greek Slavic dialect, but later translated by a fully bicultural society into "Homeric" Greek. The premise has been widely diffused throughout former Yugoslavia since its initial statement was formulated in Homer's Blind Audience in 1985. |
